Positive Affirmations To Renew Your Mind

This list of positive affirmations is probably the most meaningful way you can connect with God this year. Most battles are won or lost in my mind. It is important, therefore, to constantly remind ourselves that life is moving in the direction of our strongest thoughts. If you don’t like the way your life is going, the first place you should look is at your thoughts.

How Do We Think Positively?

Like the Apostle Paul says, sometimes we do what we don’t want to do. Paul also said that we don’t just fight with the weapons of this world, we’ve been given divine power to destroy the strongholds that build up in our brains. In Philippians 4:8 NLT, Paul wrote:

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

Paul was trying to tell us how to rewire our brains so that we do what we know is right—what we want to do. He gave us clues about how to repave the neural pathways in our brains with the divine power of God’s Word. But we can’t just read the truth once. We need to read it, write it, think it, meditate on it, and repeat it daily. Modern brain science tells us that renewing our minds is a daily process. But long before the wonderfully helpful research on cognitive behavioral therapy and neuroplasticity, we had Romans 12:2 NLT:

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

My List of Positive Affirmations I Use to Renew My Mind Daily

Here is a list of positive affirmations. The first list is the list of positive affirmations I (Pastor Craig) repeat regularly (to win the battle of the mind.) The second list is for anyone who’s in Christ. Both lists are based on God’s truth for all of us. So take what you like—write it, think it, say it, meditate on it, and believe it daily.

  • Jesus is first in my life. I exist to serve and glorify Him.
  • I love my wife and will lay down my life to serve her.
  • My children will love God and serve Him with their whole hearts. I will nurture, equip, train, and empower them to do more for His kingdom than they can imagine.
  • I love people and believe the best about others.
  • I am disciplined. Christ in me is stronger than the wrong desires in me.
  • I am growing closer to Jesus every day. Because of Christ, my family is closer, my body is stronger, my faith is deeper, and my leadership is sharper.
  • I am anointed, empowered, equipped and called to reach people far from God.
  • I am creative, innovative, driven, focused, and blessed beyond measure—because the Holy Spirit dwells within me.
  • I develop leaders. That’s not something I do. It’s who I am.
  • My words, thoughts, and imaginations are under the power of Christ. I take all thoughts captive and make them obedient to Christ.
  • I wake up with purpose, direction, and meaning every day of my life.
  • Pain is my friend. I rejoice in suffering because Christ suffered for me.
  • I bring my best—and then some. It’s what I bring after I do my best that makes the difference.
  • The world will be different and better because I served Jesus today.

  • I have the mind of Christ directing my thoughts. I have the Word of God guiding my steps.
  • I demolish every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God. I take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ.

  • I am empowered. I am chosen. I am called. I am a masterpiece of God, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works which God prepared in advance for me to do.
  • My God will bless me abundantly, so that in all things, at all times, having all I need, I will abound in every good work.
  • My God is for me. My God is with me. No weapon formed against me will prosper.
